Don't fear the flower. Zucchini is one of the most versatile vegetables with a beautiful edible flower
What could be better for a summer evening meal than some thinly sliced zucchini, drizzled in extra virgin olive oil, lightly spiced with salt and pepper topped with some deep fried zucchini flowers.
Frying zucchini blossoms is easier than you think, simply mix together some flour and beer, dunk in the blossom (it can be open or closed) and fry in some olive oil at a high heat. For those more adventurous, try filling the flower with ricotta cheese before you batter, you will not regret it.
